Sexual behavior concerns in adolescents deserve a thoughtful response that considers development, emotional health, family relationships, technology use, and safety.
Concerns may include compulsive pornography use, repeated sexual boundary violations, inappropriate online behavior, distressing sexual thoughts, difficulty managing sexual urges, or harmful sexual behavior involving another person.
I provide developmentally appropriate, non-forensic therapy for adolescents when their needs fall within my training and scope. Treatment considers the behavior within the broader context of mental health, development, trauma history, relationships, and the family environment.
Parents or guardians may participate when clinically appropriate. Adolescents also need reasonable privacy for therapy to be effective, so confidentiality expectations and their legal limits are reviewed before treatment begins.
